Mark 8:37
Is anything worth more than your soul? What is the first thing that comes to mind when you think about your soul? Maybe this question comes easier to you than it has me. I had to dig way deep to figure out what the purpose of my soul is. I thought that my soul represented a safe, and all my mess-up’s and mistakes were just stored there ready for me to count. ?

1 John 3:20 NLT
Even if we feel guilty, God is greater than our feelings and he knows everything. Why do we choose to fail? It's not like we sit around and decide "Today I am going to fail" right? That's what I thought, but a lot of us do just that. Sounds crazy doesn't it? Almost daily we face situations in which we have to make a decision. The first logical response comes from your head telling you “ok, here is what we need to do”, and your heart beating you up says “this is what we would love to do”… and of course it comes down to a decision you have to make.
One week down, two more to go…
For months now the idea that I need to be in Germany had been tugging at my heart. Naturally, I thought that God wanted to send me to Europe to expand my business. How wrong I was! Yes, business is good, but the reason I am here is definitely not doTERRA. I never thought that my faith would be questioned and tested the way it has. So I finally made it to Germany. “Home sweet home!”. I haven’t been here in over 3 years and things seem very different to me, even though everyone is assuring me that nothing has changed. I have to say that I was just a little nervous about coming here and having enough confidence that I will NOT drink, nor will I get consumed by panic or stress. You have to know that in Germany it is pretty normal for people to have a couple of beers on their lunch break, after work you go have a beer before you go home, watching your children play soccer you stand on the sideline with a beer in your hand.
Oh my goodness! You guys HAVE to read The Bait of Satan by John Bevere. I am talking about some serious spiritual warfare. Reading that book was kind of like having a strategy meeting at the pentagon (not that I really know how that goes down at the pentagon LOL, but being a military spouse, I like to think I have somewhat of an idea). Just think of John as a 4 Star General that knows how to equip you with a weapon that can use to defeat anyone and anything that wants to cause you harm. That’s exactly what his book did for me.
Yes, I know this may sound just a little crazy, but all I had to do was to know who the enemy was and what kind of weapons he uses. Trust me when I tell you that Satan knows everything about you: your deepest fears, your shame… even your insecurities. There is nothing that makes him happier than to see you backed into a corner feeling as if there is no way out, beat by your own thoughts. Yes, he truly sucks. But there is hope All you need is the amazing word of God and prayer. Lots of prayer. Ephesians 1:19 I pray that you will understand the incredible greatness of God’s power for us who believe him. I always wondered who I was suppose to be. I blamed the men that sexually abused me of robbing me of my future. I had wonderful careers, but my past always got in the way. I was always doing good for a few months, and like clock work my past would come back to haunt me. I'd start hiding things, pushing my thoughts out of my mind until they completely consumed me. Then I'd crash and end up going back to therapy. They would prescribe me different meds. Do you ever ask yourself why we continue to go in circles?
It is true for a many of us… we get stuck in the same situations over and over again, whether it be bad relationships, jobs that we can’t stand to go to, or even letting others mentally and physically abuse us. We tell ourselves this will never happen to me again, just to find ourselves back in the same bad place, having learned nothing. About 2 years ago I decided to break the cycle. I was worn out from running in circles, not getting anywhere. Word on the street is that you NEVER pray for patience or strength without telling the Lord SPECIFICALLY what you need. You know how people say "be careful what you wish for"? Well, I'm here to tell you that you should also be careful what you pray for. God is good and he will answer your prayers, it just might not be the answer you were hoping for.
Do you ever have a gut feeling, but go against it ? I have.
UGH! I should have gone with my first thought! we think to ourselves, just to do it again next time. We as humans tend to overthink everything. We worry, what are people going to say, am I going to disappoint everyone? Why do we feel that everyone is so much more important than us? Our goal everyday is to not be categorized as selfish. |
